Lela Bloom and The Trio

featuring Buck Powell, Joe Cripps and Ted Seibs.

As a young woman, vocalist Lela Bloom, shared the stage with Ray Anthony, the O. Jays and Earth, Wind and Fire.  After years of touring the United States and Europe, she made Manhattan her home. Lela has performed with the Count Basie players, Al Grey, Buddy Tate in addition to Bobby Durham, Bill Cook, Hal McKusic, Major Holly and Sir Roland Hannah.

Virtuoso Buck Powell is the pianist for The Trio.  He has a long history of performing with nationally known artists such as Rosemary Clooney, Eydie Gorme, The Temptations, and the Four Tops as well as Pharoah Sanders and  the Fifth Dimension,  plus numerous jazz greats like Charles Thomas, Nat Adderley, Jack DeJohnette, Al Hibbler, Eddie Harris, Herb Ellis, Brad Meldau and Jimmy Witherspoon.

Joe Cripps, the trio’s bassman, is also classically trained.  Cripps was bassist with the Art Porter Trio for ten years. He has played with the North Arkansas Symphony, the Tulsa Philharmonic, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, The Woody Herman Big Band and the Les Elgart Band.

Ted Seibs attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, performed in Manhattan and has played with numerous artists, including Gary Burton, Bob Hope, Chuck Berry, B.J. Thomas and many others.

Although these members come from different walks of life, each has earned their jazz chops.  These guys rock!

Lela Bloom & The Trio perform the finest music in the American songbook: the timeless jazz and popular standards of Broadway, Gershwin, Cole Porter, and more!
