On a side street in yellow light where an alley bellows like sailor on leave and the wet bricks echo an electrified shuffle, there’s an open door.  You step inside. Blue smoke and a whack-slap back beat sends you spinning as your eyes adjust to the light, and the four lads on stage lay down sounds with a primal hep-cat momentum that sets your mind on hold and your hips on double time cheap wine swagger.  There’s a mood here: comfortably dark but fearless, recklessly joyful and smarter than those damn art kids dressed in black.
